It was on the sixth day of March 2011 when the Lahore School of Economics organized a great get together of its alumni from all over Pakistan in the thematic settings of Burki Campus - alumni, students and faculty dressed in regional dresses, regional cultural presentations, and regional culinary delights.
Alumni home coming is a traditional event that offers an opportunity for alumni to see the developments back home in addition to exchanging views with faculty and sharing their own experiences from the corporate world. These events also provide an opportunity to institutions to proudly see how their graduates are doing in practical life. And reliving the past memories are very emotional too.
Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry, the Rector Lahore School of Economics welcomed the alumni and gave a broad overview of the activities in the Lahore School. “Your achievements in the corporate sector have enabled us to get where we are,” the Rector told to enthralled audience. Mr. Khalid Mansoor, the Director Placement threw light on the activities of Lahore School Placement Department and happily announced that every graduate who needed a job has already been very well placed.
Burki Campus was decorated with life size banners showing different regions of Pakistan. Students were tastefully dressed in Balochi, Sindhi, Punjabi and Khyber Pakhtonkhwa colorful attires. Dr. Sabiha Mansoor gave away prizes to Kinza Malik, Rabia Samdani, Madeha Mustafa, Ali Zain, Adil Nizami and Moiz – judged as best dressed participants. To match it all, the regional tone of the alumni home coming day was set completely when dance troupes started appearing from behind the banners of their provinces and performed.
