The Age of AI: Transitioning from the Digital Age to a New Epoch

On 2 October 2025, Dr. Hasan Zafar presented his research, "The Age of AI: Transitioning from the Digital Age to a New Epoch," in TRRC 4.

Dr. Hasan said that the world is shifting from the Digital Age to the Age of AI, a transformation as significant as the Industrial Revolution. AI’s autonomy, predictive intelligence, and decision-making are reshaping healthcare, finance, education, and defense. Like the Industrial Revolution’s mechanization and the Digital Age’s connectivity, AI is redefining society by automating tasks, personalizing services, and creating new industries like data governance.

AI challenges human agency, creativity, and ethics, raising questions about work, consciousness, and fairness. Education is evolving with AI-driven platforms that personalize learning and teach AI literacy, preparing students for hybrid careers blending technical and creative skills. The economy is moving toward knowledge-based jobs, requiring lifelong learning and reskilling.

Globally, AI offers strategic advantages but risks destabilization without regulation. Autonomous drones and cyber systems transform defense, while ethical frameworks are needed to prevent errors or misuse. To thrive, society must prioritize ethical AI policies, innovative education, and adaptable workforces. AI’s integration into daily life—from smart homes to healthcare—demands responsible guidance to ensure progress benefits all.
