The Lahore School of Economic Association of Debaters’ Ninth Annual Asian Parliamentary Style Lahore School Debate ‘17 (January 22-24, 2017) concluded on Tuesday evening. Dr Azam Chaudhry, Dean of Economics Faculty attended the finals and gave away the prizes to the winners.
About 110 debaters from 70 different schools and universities from across the country gathered at the Lahore School Main Burki Campus to compete on wide spanning topics which addressed numerous pertinent issues.

Best Speaker from Lahore School

Lahore School of Economics Association of Debaters participated in 15th Annual GIKI Parliamentary Debates on 11 - 13 November 2016 at GIKI, Swabi. One team (Daniyal Nasir Mirza and Nimra Afzal) made it to the finals. Daniyal Nasir Mirza bagged the award for Best Speaker.

Intra Model United Nations 2016

Lahore School of Economics Association of Debaters organized Intra Model United Nations '16 on 10 September 2016. The committee room debated on "South Asia's biggest problem; the Kashmir issue". An approximate of 18 delegates showed up in the session which continued for 4 hours. The delegates were able to conduct an above average level of debate despite most of them having no prior experience in it Model United Nations. The event started with an introductory session by the chair to guide the new and interested MUNners. The basic purpose to conduct such an event was to prepare the team for the future events and also to polish the skills of potential debaters.

The flagship parliamentary debating competition of the Lahore School of Economics Association of Debaters, the Lahore School Debate, was held at the Lahore School from on January 16-18 2016. The 7th Annual Lahore School Debate followed the All-Asian Parliamentary Style of Debates, which employs the 3-on-3 debating format, with reply speeches. Teams from 60 schools and universities from across the country gathered at the Lahore School Burki campus to compete in categories of English and Urdu Parliamentary.

Lahore School of Economics Association of Debaters - Intra MUN’14

Lahore School of Economics Association of Debaters (LSEAD) held its Bi Annual LSE Intra Model United Nations 2014 on September 28, 2014. The Intra MUN Simulated the 3rd General Assembly of the United Nations ; the social, Cultural and Humanitarian Committee (SOCHUM) which discussed combating religious Sectarian violence in Muslim regions. The Committee was chaired by Usman Rana, the Vice President of LSEAD.
With a quorum of 34 delegates the committee focused on issues of sectarian violence in Middle East and Pakistan. State sponsored sectarian violence and role of militant groups in fueling this problem was the crux of the session.

An Argument Begins at Lahore School

The Lahore School of Economic Association of Debaters is holding its annual Lahore School Debate this week (December 30, 2012 to January 1, 2013). Theme of the Lahore School Debate 2013 is, "An Argument Begins Here." Teams of different universities from across the country have gathered at the Lahore School Burki campus to compete in categories of English Parliamentary, Urdu Parliamentary and Declamations. Enthralling debates on wide spanning topics is going to address numerous pertinent issues of the presnt times during one of biggest debating event in Pakistan. Yes, I am attending.

Lahore School Wins Annual GCU Parliamentary Debates Competition 2012

The Lahore School of Economics Association of Debaters (LSEAD) has won the 17th Annual Parliamentary Debating Competition at the Government College University. Competing with several teams from all over Pakistan; two teams from Lahore School successfully reached the final round and competed against each other to bring the trophy back home for the second consecutive time.
The final match took place on April 24, 2012, between Lahore School Team A (consisting of Wasae Imran, Ali Akbar Abbas Rizvi and Hamza Ghaznavi) and Lahore School Team B (consisting of Shahzeb Rathore, Saad Sohail and Zarak Shah) with Team A winning after a unanimous decision in their favor.
The motion discussed in the final round was ‘This House Believes that Education Should Be a Federal Subject’ and both sides argued intensely on the topic right till the end. To top it off, Ali Akbar Abbas Rizvi was awarded the Best Speaker of the Tournament - [Sidra Rana].

The Lahore School Debate 2009

The Lahore School of Economics Association of Debaters (LSEAD) is holding the Lahore School inter-varsity debates 09 from January 23 to 27, 2009. So far 42 teams have confirmed their participation in this grand debating event.
In order to provide an unparalleled platform for debate, the Lahore School will be following the all Asians format of debates which employs the 3 on 3 debating format with reply speeches. Each institution can register up to two teams. The Lahore School Debate will consist of 6 preliminary rounds (2 closed and one custom round titled the free speech round) followed by the knockout stages consisting of the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the grand final.
