In Pakistan, economic slowdown creates pessimism among firms

The slowdown in Pakistan’s economy over the last two years has created a negative perception amongst different businesses, especially in Punjab’s provincial capital region.

Lahore, the country’s second largest city, has managed to become a hub of diversified businesses on the back of investments worth billions of rupees from previous governments in urban and industrial infrastructures.

Marketing for Startups

Mr. Ahmad Babar, CEO & Founder TOR Solutions held a training session at the Lahore School Incubation Lab for the incubated startups and alumni on 24th December 2019. Mr. Ahmad, an Alumnus of the Lahore School, is a Corporate Trainer and Consultant. He is also serving as the CEO of The Outsource Resource (Pvt.) Ltd.


Mr. Ahmad discussed how to set the marketing strategy, irrespective of the size of the venture. Further, the various mediums and platforms for marketing available to both startups and corporations including Traditional (Conventional) Marketing, Digital Marketing, Influencers, Viral Marketing and Hybrid marketing options were analyzed and discussed along with the pros and cons of each. In Digital Marketing, the viability of each of the popular platforms for various products/services and target markets were discussed. Also, the importance of research, data, analytics, customer feedback and the need to act promptly to changing scenarios was presented to the participants.

Lahore School Seventh Entrepreneurs Exhibition 2019

On Wednesday, November 27, 2019 Lahore School Entrepreneurship and Business Society (EBS) in collaboration with Lahore School Incubation Lab (LSIL) hosted the 7th Entrepreneurs Exhibition 2019. Entrepreneurs Exhibition in one of the largest internal events that take place on campus every year. Undergrad (final year) students enrolled in Marketing major degrees take part in the event.


This year 11 sections taking the course of Entrepreneurship and SME Management took part in the competition and displayed 90+ business ideas. These ideas mostly revolved around modern solutions, tech startups and social entrepreneurship. Executives and Lahore School faculty members were invited as external and internal judges to evaluate and judge the projects and give their valuable feedback to the students.

The Lahore School of Economics Management Society Orientation 19

The Lahore School of Economics Management Society offers exceptional opportunities to students for professional grooming through an array of activities. It trains them to develop managerial skills and professional tactics which are required to face real life challenges. Our philosophy is to build the confidence and morale of the students so that they are able to refine their managerial capabilities and flairs. The Management Society has won various trophies through the participation in different national business and management competitions.


The Management Society Students' Council organised its orientation on 23 October 2019, at the SBS library. They gave an insight of what the society is about and also shed some lights on the upcoming events. The president of Management Society, Gohar Abid gave a complete overview of how the management society is going to help students build their character and professional experiences.
