Lahore School Wins Best Delegation Trophy at LSF 24

Lahore School of Economics lifted trophies for Overall Best Delegation, Best Delegation Girls, and Best Delegation Boys in LUMS Sports Festival (LSF) held from 1-4 Jan 2024. LSF is one of the major sporting events attended by a large number of universities, colleges, and private clubs from all over Pakistan.

Lahore School at LUMS Home Fixture

Lahore School of Economics participated in LUMS Home Fixture that took place from 11 November to 13 November 2022. Total nine universities (175 students) from all over the country participated in the fixture.


Lahore School won the following medals:

Football (boys) – Gold

Basketball (boys) – Silver

Futsal (girls) – Silver

Netball (girls) – Silver

Hockey (boys) – Silver

Volleyball (boys) – Silver


Lahore School also won the Best Delegation Trophy by a huge margin of 14 points with FC College being runner up.

Lahore School of Economics won BNU Bestival X

Lahore School of Economics won BNU Bestival X held from 3 Nov to 6 Nov 2022. There were 80 colleges and universities from all over Pakistan, which took part in the mega sports event. Lahore School delegation comprised of 105 students (both male and female). The School contested in 28 sports categories. 


Lahore School won medals in following categories:

Basketball girls -Gold

Table Tennis girls - Gold

Table Tennis mix double - Gold

Volleyball boys - Gold

Fustal boys - Gold 

Badminton girls' single and doubles - Silver

Basketball and Badminton boys and girls reached the semifinals and Badminton mixed doubles reached quarterfinals.


Lahore School of Economics also lifted the Best Delegation trophy.


Two of Lahore School students took part in the E-sports category and ended up playing the final against each other, which resulted in Lahore School grabbing both the gold and silver medals.

Lahore School Wins GIK Sports Competition


Lahore School of Economics won 7 Gold and 4 Silver Medals at the Sports Festival organized at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIK), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held from 31 Jan to 2 Feb 2020. Lahore School scored maximum points and lifted the Winner’s Trophy.

Victory at Sports Fest 2017


Lahore School of Economics won Overall Trophy (O-19), Best Delegation Award, Best Female Delegation Award and Best Male Delegation Award at LUMS Sports Fest 2017 held on 1-4 January 2017. More than 1400 students (boys and girls) participated from all over Pakistan. Lahore School Sports Society sent 85 students to participate in different sports.

Lahore School Sports Gala 2016

Lahore School Sports Society organized Lahore School Sports Gala 2016 from 20 March 2016 till 25 March 2016. In this event more than 10 universities including Institute of Business Administration Karachi, Lahore University of Management Sciences, University College Lahore, CMH Medical College, King Edward Medical University, Beaconhouse National University, Akhtar Saeed Medical College, Lahore Medical and Dental College, University of Engineering and Technology, Imperial College Lahore, National University of Emerging Sciences, National College of Business and Administration participated.


In this gala there were 8 different sports which included cricket, hockey, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and futsal were played. Trophy was won by Lahore School of Economics whereas in Female Category the trophy was lifted by Lahore University of Management Sciences.

Lahore School Wins Basketball National Championship 2015


Lahore School of Economics Team bagged the Basketball trophy in LUMS Basketball National Championship 2015 held from 30 April to 3 May 2015 at LUMS. Universities from all over the country participated in the Championship. Lahore School team comprised Zinat, Miahn Ghalib, Ayesha, Zainab and Hafza.

Alumni comes ‘home' to play cricket

Alumni from Class of 2006 visited Lahore School to play a cricket match on June 8, 2014. They had great fun getting together at a place from where they all had great memories. A two match series was played by the two teams of MBA: Batch of 2006 ; Section A and Section B. Section A Team made LSE Cricket Ground look no less then Sharjah. The only difference was that the last ball six in both the matches was not hit by Javed Miandad but by our very own alumni.

Lahore School Excellence Award Ceremony 2013-14

Lahore School Excellence Award Ceremony 2014 was held on February 28, 2014. Dr Azam Chaudhry, the Dean of Economics was the chief guest who gave away the prizes to sportsmen for their performance in different sports throughout the year.


In addition to academics, Lahore School of Economics is distinguished in the fields of sports. Lahore School students not only have been winning sports competition at different levels but many of them are representing the School in national teams. Lahore School Rugby

Five students of the Lahore School of Economics played from Pakistan Universities 15’s side against Indian National U19 Rugby team on October 2, 2013 at Punjab Stadium Lahore.
 

Lahore School of Economics Rugby players are Umair Ghuman, Saad Ahmed Khan, Husnain Haider, Ali Abid and Hasham Raja. Also, Umair Ghuman has been named Vice Captain of Pakistan Universities team.

Lahore School Sports

 
Lahore School Volleyball Team stood first; Futsal Team stood second Table Tennis team stood third in University College Lahore sports Fiesta held from February 25 to March 3, 2013. The Fiesta included four Cricket, Volleyball, Futsal and Table Tennis. Lahore School of Economics was also declared the overall winners for the male sports.

Leading Rugby


Lahore School of Economics Rugby team player Sair Riaz of MBA (executive) who is also the captain of National Rugby team lead team Punjab as a captain this year in 32 nd National Games and won gold for Punjab by beating Police in the final. Sair Riaz was also the highest try scorer of the event and was declared as player of the tournament as well - Umair Ghumman.

Alumni go green

Flooded with green shirts in the dry October wind, the lush green cricket ground of the Lahore school of Economics Main Campus was alive with the shouts and cries of the Alumni totally engrossed in the cricket match that was played on October 07, 2012 between the Lahore School Alumni and Lahore School B teams. The batting line was much better for Lahore School Alumni as compared to B which resulted in Alumni winning from Lahore School team B. The total runs of Alumni were 260 and they won from by 130 runs. The Campus was filled with an air of cricket junoon and the spirits of the players were even more hyped up as the T-Twenty World Cup was also being played in Sri Lanka.

Lahore School Victory in 15s Rugby Tournament

The Lahore School of Economics rugby team won from Punjab University in the first match of the Super 15s Rugby Tournament organized by the Pakistan Rugby Union, on September 30, 2012 at the LUMS Rugby Ground (24-0).



The team played its second ever 15s rugby test match after rigorous and innovative training camps conducted by Pakistan national team captain Arsalan Zahid, Pakistan team player Imran Rashid and Sair Riaz, a decorated Pakistan national team player who is currently student at the Lahore School.

Lahore School students at National Women Football Training Camp, Sri Lanka

Two Lahore School of Economics students Batool Ronaq Naqvi, BSc IV and Mahina Ghalib, BSc II have been selected for the National Women Football Training Camp 2012, for the SAFF Women Championship 2012, which will be held from August 3 to September 4, 2012 in Sri Lanka. Eight countries including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka are taking part in SAFF Women Championship 2012.

The Lahore School’s Sports Coordinator Uzma Yousaf Zaidi has also been selected as Manager and Assistant Coach for SAFF Women Football Championship 2012. Uzma Zaidi has already represented Pakistan in different countries for different sporting events like karate and football.
