International Marketing

Mr. Azfar Hasan, CEO-Matrix Sourcing, visited the Lahore School of Economics to deliver a lecture on “International Marketing” to the graduating MBA class.

Mr Hasan explained that there were 5 steps involved when an organization markets itself internationally. These steps were:
  1. Filtering the industry (paying attention to products viable for export)
  2. Qualifying (adopting mature systems)
  3. On boarding (making the customers familiar with the process)
  4. Stabilizing (continuous production runs)
  5. Continuous improvement (innovate to compete in international markets).
He shared with the students the challenges commonly faced by organisations that were trying to market themselves internationally. He gave the example of Matrix Sourcing (buying house) for students to better understand how these challenges prove difficult for organizations to deal with. The challenges included rising costs, security risk, boring product and social compliance.

Mr Azfar went on to share the current business trends and while doing so he shared many interesting examples such as that of BONBOS.
