JOB PLACEMENTS AND INTERNSHIPS
The sluggish performance of Pakistan's Economy over the last few years, and the devastation caused by the recent floods has resulted in a very tight job market. The few jobs which are available attract intense competition among graduates of leading universities in Pakistan. Under these conditions it was imperative that the Corporate Affairs and Placements Office adopt a proactive, aggressive approach to finding jobs for the graduating class of 2010.
The team has devised a strategy (both long and short term), to ensure a high success rate.
The objective is to arrange 100% placements both for jobs and internships for interested students.
Some activities undertaken in this connection are as follows:
- This year we have sent out a student’s profile book to 285 leading organizations in Pakistan covering sectors like banking, telecommunication, insurance, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, fertilizers, appliances, automobile assemblers, advertising and FMCG companies.
- These organizations have been requested repeatedly through letters and visits to arrange jobs for the graduating class.
We have also written to over 350 alumni, requesting them to facilitate the job placement drive in their organization of employment.
A Karachi chapter is being organized to meet once a month, to actively promote the Lahore School of Economics in Karachi - the largest job market in Pakistan.
