8th Entrepreneur's Exhibition 2022

The 8th Entrepreneurs Exhibition 2022 of Lahore School of Economics was held on March 31, 2022 in main campus in which more than 500 marketing major students participated. This year some 65-business ideas, mostly revolving around modern solutions, tech startups and social entrepreneurship, were highlighted. The ideas that received most recognition where; Rent the Runway, Drive Genix, Kafan Dafan and Mawaqay, Prominent executives from the industry, incubation centers, venture capitalists and Lahore School faculty members were invited as external and internal judges to evaluate the projects and give their feedback to the students. Lahore School Entrepreneurship and Business Society Orientation `19

Lahore School Entrepreneurship and Business Society (LSEBS) hosted its Orientation `19 on 1 October 2019 in MCL Library. LSEBS focuses on providing a platform to young aspiring entrepreneurs of Lahore School to display their entrepreneurial skills on various national and international platforms.
Faizan Khalid, Patron LSEBS and Head of Incubation Lab (LSIL) opened the orientation. He welcomed everyone and briefed the audience about the history and events of LSEBS. He highlighted the role LSEBS in providing a platform to young entrepreneurs of Lahore School by equipping them with a skill set required to achieve career excellence through innovation and creativity. Faizan Khalid also introduced the services provided by LSIL to foster young entrepreneurial mindset and transform ideas into viable business solutions for the Lahore school students and alumni. He introduced the council and invited the President for 2019-20, Rabia Naseer to present the plan for next academic year.

The orientation for The Lahore School of Economics Entrepreneurship and Business Society (EBS) was held on 9 October 2018 at the Mahmood Chaudhry Library, Burki Campus. Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhary, the Rector Lahore School of Economics delivered a welcome speech. Large number of students and senior faculty attended the event.
At the occasion, Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry announced the launch of the new Lahore School Incubation Lab – a place where Alumni would receive support, mentoring and guidance on building their own business and paving their way to becoming successful entrepreneurs.

Business Fiesta ’17

On the 23rd of November, 2017 Lahore School Entrepreneurship and Business Society held its most awaited event of the year, The Business Fiesta’17. Teams got a chance to put forth their business ideas to the most renowned judges. The competition consisted of two rounds. Participants displayed their unique product or service idea. Judges selected and shortlisted six teams who then proceeded onto the second round. These teams presented their ideas to the judges again in a formal slideshow presentation, which included all the financials, budgets, costs and analysis of each business idea. This was followed by a question and answer session by the judges. The winning team Pak Freight, who won Rs. 30,000 for their startup. The second best idea was of Getaway, who were awarded Rs. 20,000, and Siakafat came third and won a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.

Entrepreneurship and Business Society Orientation 17

Lahore School Entrepreneurship and Business Society had it’s 4th orientation on 7 October 2017. It was attended by Professor Fareed A Fareedy, Mr Javed Qureshi, Moiz Hijazi and Hamza Tariq (two former presidents) and a large number of students.
Professor Fareed A Fareedy encouraged students to become entrepreneurs and threw light on a wide range of opportunities this platform offers to its members. Mr. Faizan Khalid introduced the council for the term. Mr. Hassan Shah Khagga (former President) shared his own experiences of the past. Kinza Babar gave out her plan for the upcoming term. At the end, there was a gaming session for the participants.

Young Leaders and Entrepreneurial Summit 2017

Lahore School Marketing Society and Entrepreneurial Business Society members participated in Young Leaders and Entrepreneurial Summit’17 held at LUMS which from 6th - 9th January 2017.
Young Leaders' and Entrepreneurs' Summit is a unique platform, which encourages young talent to understand entrepreneurship. The platform has several rounds which include Ad making challenges, Business Idea concept generation and many more.

Mr. Noaman Zakir, Lahore School Alumni and CEO of Rici Melion visited Lahore School of Economics, Burki Campus, on November 25, 2016 to share his thoughts on Entrepreneurship.
Kinza Babar, the Vice President of the Entrepreneur and Business Society (EBS) opened the session by welcoming the participants, introducing the trainers. Hassan Shah Khagga, the president of the society, shared his experience of being a part of EBS and how it has brought so much positivity in him as a person and his goals in life.

Lahore School of Economics Entrepreneurial Exhibition

Every year, Lahore School of Economics Entrepreneurship Society hosts an Entrepreneurial Exhibition where students put up displays for various business ideas. It is a highly anticipated event for the student body of the Lahore School who take part in this exhibition with full zeal and enthusiasm.
This year, around 80 students displayed their innovative product ideas in areas such as shoes, clothing, food as well as various service ideas such as online photo framing, automated control for home appliances, among others in the Entrepreneurial Exhibition this year. Notable figures of the industry and Entrepreneurs were invited as judges who evaluated the ideas put forward by the students. Various awards for different categories including Best Product Idea, Best Service Idea, and Entrepreneur of the Year were given to the students based on the evaluation by the judges.

The Lahore School Entrepreneurial and Business Society (LS-EBS) organized a workshop by Plan-9 on Feb 18, 2016. Plan-9 is government funded technology incubation center which over a period of 5 years has hatched around 150 + new business ideas. Organizations like these, call attention to the rising talents of the country.
Mr. Nabeel A. Qadeer, Joint Director, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development had a very interactive session for students interested in starting up their own businesses. He stirred the conversation up by talking about how plan-9 emerged as a knight in shining armour for all young entrepreneurs, back in 2012. He then directed the conversation towards making students understand the path to entrepreneurship, where he discussed different phases, from identifying the problem to the last stage where they pivot changes.

Timeless Style and Effortless Femininity

Lahore School Entrepreneurial and Business Society held a workshop on 21st January 2016 to "Highlight the achievements of Entrepreneurial and business Society over the past one year." The patron (Prof F.A Fareedy) of the society along with the president (Hamza Tariq) made a presentation to engage the student body and discussed the major events of the society including Innovation Challenge and Entrepreneurs Exhibition.
Erum Khan (Fashion Designer and Entrepreneur) visited the campus and delivered an interesting talk especially for the future women entrepreneurs of Lahore School. Erum Khan promotes exquisite tailoring skills combined with a street avant-garde. Her label Erum Khan (EK) is “timeless style and effortless femininity”, which have distinguished the brand in fashion industry. She creates formal, semi-formal, party and bridal wear. Three important success lessons that she taught were hard work, consistency and passion to follow the dreams. The workshop really benefited the student body who are interested in entrepreneurship and business particularly in women in fashion designing.

Lahore School of Economics Entrepreneurial Exhibition

An entrepreneurial exhibition was organized by the Entrepreneurial and Business Society of Lahore School of Economics which entailed students displaying their innovative ideas in the competition. About 120 students presented their ideas in 60 cubicles set up for the event. This was the second exhibition for current year where graduating students of 2016 participated.

Lahore School ‘Entrepreneurial and Business Society’(EBS) second annual orientation was held on 9 September 2015. It was attended by over 200 students, both undergraduate and graduate.
Prof F.A. Fareedy took the opportunity to engage the audience in his talk about why money is important? Moiz Hijazi, former president of EBS, shared his experiences as an entrepreneur. He also covered last year events which included Lahore School Business Fiesta'14 and Lahore School Entrepreneur's Exhibition'15. Hamza Tariq (President, EBS) explained about his own journey as a young entrepreneur during his second year at the university when he opened up a small restaurant. Wasif Arshad and Aniqa Gohar, the vice president of the society informed the audience about the upcoming events for 2015-16.

Business Fiesta

The Entrepreneurial and Business society hosted its first workshop “Business Fiesta’14”at the Mahmood Chaudry Library (MCL) on November 27, 2014. The student officials and representatives of Lahore School Entrepreneurial and Business Society conducted this competition. The event was attended by more than 150 undergraduate and postgraduate students including faculty members (Prof F.A.Fareedy, Mr Saad Shahid, Mr Faizan Khalid, Mr Javed Qureshi, Mr Khalid Mansoor, Miss Rabia Sohail and Miss Atiqa.).
Four young entrepreneurs from Lahore (Mr.Amer Sarfraz, Partner and Vice president of Bramerz, Ms.Saba Sharjeal, Owner of The Mad Chef, Mr.Waqas Ali, Founder of Markhor and Mr.Qasim Zafar, Ceo of Savareeapp) were invited to talk to the audience and to give them an insight about the basics of entrepreneurship. These entrepreneurs included.
Moiz Hijazi (President of the Lahore School Entrepreneurial and Business Society) explained the future projects and events to be held in the upcoming spring semester. The workshop was concluded with a thank you note and the guests were presented with shields and flowers as a token of appreciation, by the society’s patron Mr. Fareedy and executive committee members Mr Faizan Khalid and Mr.Saad Shahid. It was followed by a lunch at the faculty lounge arranged for the guest speakers and faculty members. This marked an end to the first event of Lahore School Entrepreneurship and Business society.
