Lahore School threw a Farewell Party for graduating MBA class on June 19, 2012. The event was held under a stunning setting, perfect for the ‘night to remember
’. The evening started with a walk down memory lane where slideshows were shown to the gathering. The slideshows provided a chance for all the students to revisit their past and remember all the fun times they had at the School.
An interesting and highly anticipated awards session then commenced, with the students voting for the Best Teachers and TAs for Finance and Marketing Sections, which were awarded by Dr. Azam Chaudhry, Dean of Economics. Andaleeb Abbas bagged the title for the Best Teacher: Marketing, and in her victory speech, she talked about the three Cs that guided her in her life: Conviction, Courage and Commitment. The Best Teacher: Finance was awarded to Dr. Shakil Faruqi, who gave a message to his students not to forget about “who they were and where they were from”. The Best TA award for marketing was given to Rabia Mansoor, and Hira Akram received the Best TA award for Finance.
After the tributes to their favorite teachers and teacher assistants, the Best Student awards were also given out. Saara Usman from Finance, and Izza Imran from marketing were awarded for obtaining the highest CGPA in their respective programs. The stage was then given to Professor Fareed A. Fareedy, who talked about things in life that were more important than money. His enthusiastic and high spirited talk was followed by Dr. Sohail Zafar’s presence on the stage. The Dean of Business Administration congratulated the students for their amazing performances in the classrooms. He also happily announced that Class of 2012 had more students getting jobs before graduation, compared to the last batch. He wished the students success in their future.
The crowd broke off soon after for dinner, which was quickly followed by a Title Award ceremony, where students of each section were given nicknames to remember their MBA times.
