Research -- Earthquake 2005

Lahore School of Economics (Center of Research for Economics and Business) has undertaken number of research projects, as per instructions of the Governor of Punjab, who is also the Chancellor of Lahore School, on different dimensions of the earthquake of Oct 08, 2005. Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Khan, Dr. Mazhar ul Haq Baloch, Dr. Salman Ahmad, Dr. Munir Ghazanfar, and Dr. Munir Ahmad along with other research fellows are actively engaged in measuring and evaluating the impact of the earthquake.

Language and politics in Pakistan

Lahore School of Economics (Centre for Research) is organizing a seminar on Language and Politics in Pakistan: a uniting or a dividing force, on Nov 18, 2005 at the City campus.
Dr. Tariq Rahman, a distinguished professor of Linguistics and South Asian Studies at Quaid-i-Azam University and author of nine books (Including Language and Politics in Pakistan (1996) will deliver a lecture.

Earthquake 2005

Lahore School of Economics has selected village Hill in Tehsil Dheer Kot (District Bagh), Azad Kashmir for relief victims and researching the aftereffects of earthquake. Eight members delegation (including Dr. Salman Ahmad, Dr. Munir Ghazanfar and Dr. Mazhar Baluch) returned after three days stay in village Hill. During the stay, LSE delegates selected Boys High School and Girls Middle School in the Village for repair and reconstruction. They also made arrangement for daily milk feeding of the students of the Schools.
Lahore School is in constant touch with the Village through Lahore School staff working there.
