Trends in the Pakistan Economy

Zubyr Soomro , former Citi Country Officer and Managing Director visited Lahore School of Economics and gave a lecture to MBA / MSc Students on Sep 22, 2008. His presentation focused on macroeconomic challenges, recent trends in the Pakistan economy, financial sector, careers in financial sector and NGOs in Pakistan and Career directions. He also highlighted the factors in career success. This interactive lecture was a part of the Lahore School Distinguished Professional Lecture Series Program.

Strategic Planning

Leon Menezes, the Director and Downstream HR General Manager Shell (Pakistan, Middle East, Central Asia, Sri Lanka) visited the Lahore School of Economics on September 17, 2008. A graduate of the University of Hull UK with over thirty years of work experience in sales, marketing, operations and Human Resource Management , Leon Menezes gave an interactive lecture to the students of MBA and Msc. The lecture focused on strategic planning, change and productivity. The talk was followed by question answer session.

Third Intra Lahore School of Economics Parliamentary Debating Championship (14 - 15, Sep 2008)

The Lahore School of Economics Association of Debaters (LSEAD) held the 3rd Intra Lahore School parliamentary Debating Championship on the 14 - 15th September, 2008. The preliminary rounds were held on Sunday and the finals on Monday. Twelve teams, with twenty four debaters registered for the championship.

The finalist were Ryan, Ayman (Proposition) and Yassir Rizwan and Ans Ibrahim (Opposition). The team comprising Ayman and Ryan lifted the trophy as the panel of final adjudicators judged the motion to stand.
