Contextualizing Business Education for a Sustainable, Digital, and Inclusive Future


Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry, Rector Lahore School of Economics, along with Dr. Azam Chaudhry, Pro-Rector Lahore School of Economics, Dr. Arshad Hasan, Chief Financial Officer Lahore School of Economics, Dr. Sophia Ali and Ms. Mehr-un-Nisa Khan Lodhi, attended the National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC), 12th Deans and Directors Conference, themed “Contextualizing Business Education for a Sustainable, Digital, and Inclusive Future.” This event was held on 17th and 18th of February 2025 at the Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore.

The Strategic Role of Leadership in Transforming Business Education


Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry participated in a key panel discussion at the conference, titled “The Strategic Role of Leadership in Transforming Business Education,” The session was moderated by Dr. Naukhez Sarwar, Chairman of NBEAC which included Dr. Farrukh Iqbal, former Chairman of NBEAC and Dr. Zahoor Hassan Syed, former Vice Chancellor of LUMS. This plenary session emphasized the critical role of academic leadership in reshaping business education. It highlighted the importance of fostering strategic partnerships between academia, industry, and communities to enhance the relevance and impact of business schools.

Dr. Nabiha Fatima Shahram

Dr. Nabiha Fatima Shahram joins the Lahore School of Economics as Assistant Professor, Department of Social Sciences.

Dr. Nabiha specializes in the area of Sociology. She received her PhD in Sociology from the University of Punjab and also holds an MPhil in Sociology as well as an MA in Mass Communication.

She brings with her diverse teaching and research experience in the areas of Sociology, Anthropology, Development Studies, Virtual Media, and Gender Studies.

Economic dilemma

In his recent address to parliament, the finance minister stated that he would resist any pressure to revive growth, presumably until the necessary reforms were completed and economic stability fully restored.

This firm stand, however, was questioned by some critics who asked why he was further building reserves based on high-interest commercial loans. Is this a sign that the economic stability the government claims it has achieved in a short period is simply a mirage?
