 Length of MBA Programme for Full Time Working Professionals: The MBA for full time working professionals Programme is a 2½ year degree programme requiring completion of 66 credit hours. Class timings would be from 8.15 a.m.- 5.30 p.m on Sundays at the Burki Campus.

Credit Hours, Courses and Thesis: All courses are three credit hours each. Class contact hours for each course would be two meetings of 2 hours each per week for 12 weeks.

Entrance Requirements: This programme is intended for full time working executives. Admission to the Lahore School’s MBA Programme for Full time Working Professionals is regulated through an entrance examination and interview process. A four year BA/BSc/BCom/ BBA (Hons) degree with a CGPA of 2.5 is a necessary pre-requisite for regular admission into the MBA Programme for Full Time Working Professionals.

Programme and Admissions Information: The Lahore School of Economics Prospectus which includes programme and admissions information may be collected from the Lahore School’s Admissions Office at the City Campus. Prospective students are invited to visit the Admissions Office Mondays to Fridays between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Graduate Programmes in Economics

The Lahore School of Economics will be accepting applications for its MSc Economics, MS Economics and MPHIL Economics programmes next semester. The Lahore School’s Graduate Economics degrees are designed to provide rigorous academic training to students whose careers are or will be in the area of economics or economic policy. The curriculum of the graduate programmes have been designed to help students develop a solid foundation of analytical skills that will be valuable to students who continue on to pursue graduate degrees in economics and also for those who want to enter the profession (as either instructors or practitioners) right after completing the degree. The research and practical components of the programmes are designed to produce graduates who have an understanding of cutting edge academic and policy research. A significant number of the graduates continue their academic training to obtain further degrees in various areas of economics in highly ranked international programmes or progress to the teaching track at the Lahore School.


The MSc Economics programme is a one-year taught programme while the MS Economics programme is a one-year taught programme followed by a one semester MS research project. Finally, the MPHIL Economics programme is a one year taught programme followed by a half year MPHIL research thesis. Details about these programmes are available from the Graduate Programmes Office. The coursework for programmes is the same and is taught by the senior faculty of the department of economics. Students with an undergraduate degree in economics (with a minimum CGPA of 3.5) are welcome to apply to the programme. Students who apply will also be required to take the NTS (National Testing Service) GAT General test, a Lahore School of Economics Graduate Admissions test and will be interviewed by the admissions committee.

Lahore School of Economics Admission
May 18, 2006

This is an admission season at Lahore School of Economics (Applications dead line: Jun 30, 2006). Students are looking for best university and making decisions to join best programmes that suit them. How can students and parents make an informed decision? Here is my suggestion.

You are probably on summer vacations anyway. Why not visit LSE Campuses? Feel the environment, meet members faculty or listen to admission managers. After you have been there, you can make a more careful appraisal and more informed decision.
