Lahore School of Economics’ Entrepreneurial and Business Society (EBS) conducted the first external ‘Lahore School Innovation Challenge’ on 14 November, 2015. The Challenge included two competitions: Business Idea Competition (BIC) and Debating Competition. A level schools and universities from all over Pakistan were invited. Total of thirteen teams for BIC and four teams for the debating competition participated.
Amna Zahra introduced the society and Hamza Tariq told about the society’s accomplishments. Aniqa Gohar shared the outlay of the events and competitions to the delegates and the judges and also showed a short video to the audience that comprised of pictures and clippings from last year’s events conducted by the society as well as the pictures of the current student council.

Lahore School Youth Development Crops (YDC) orientation was held on the 21 November, 2015 at the Main Campus Lahore School of Economics.
Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Planning Minister, Pakistan who was the chief guest, presided over the oath taking ceremony of the YDC Council. Prof. Ahsan Iqbal addressed the gathering and talked to the students about the importance of forming the societies such as YDC for the development of Pakistan. He said that all the events for YDC are scheduled in line with the 'vision 2025.' He also urged the students to innovative ideas and said, "It's time that we should start celebrating Pakistan." The minister encouraged the Lahore School youth to participate in the building a better Pakistan.

Lahore School of Economics conducted a workshop on “stereotyping and labeling” on 11 November 2015. Mr. Jahanzeb Gurchani – a renowned television actor was the guest speaker.
The discussion was carried out in the SBS library in a manner that encouraged the audience to open up to the guest speaker and narrate their experiences. Mr. Gurchani was delighted to be part of such a bright group of students who asked meaningful questions. A major reason for this openness can be attributed to the fact that Mr. Gurchani used his own run-ins in life to highlight the wrongs of this social issue.

Ms. Saira Iftikhar, Head Risk Management HBL, was invited to the Lahore School of Economics to deliver a lecture on 'Risk Management' to the graduating BBA class on November 13, 2015.
Ms. Saira Iftikhar started explained what risk management was, how it was recognized as an independent department and the importance of risk management in the world of today. In her interactive session, the speaker shared her own experiences.

Mr. Omer Zaman, Brand Manager Leisure Club was in Lahore School of Economics to deliver a lecture on 'Entrepreneurship and SME Management' to the graduating BBA class on November 12, 2015.
In his lecture, Mr. Zaman talked how Leisure Club was founded and the factors that led to its success. How integrity, honesty and consistent quality were the core values of his team. He also explained the rebranding of Leisure Club that took place highlighting its 'Made of Pakistan' mantra.

Mr. Ali Akbar, Director Marketing Coca Cola Export Corporation, visited the Lahore School of Economics on November 06, 2015, to deliver a lecture on Consumer Behavior to the graduating MBA class.
The speaker defined consumer behavior as a reaction by a consumer to a product. He said that marketing meant developing a connection with the consumers by speaking to the consumers' mind and making the consumer react in a certain way. He said that marketing had changed from influencing the consumers to inspiring the consumers.

The Lahore School Management Society held their second annual case study competition titled “Mind Quest” on October 29, 2015. This case study competition was characterized by two management tracks: Human Resource Management and Strategic Management. The jury panel consisted of Ms. Mahvesh; Ms. Sana; Ms. Aliya; and Ms. Amina. The jury panel of Human Resource Management was led by Ms. Sana and Ms. Mahvesh chaired the Strategic Management panel. The event was attended by a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate students including the participating teams and members of Lahore School Management Society.
This competition was intellectually motivating and brought excitement both in the participating students and audience. This aspect was evident by the series of interesting and relevant questions asked by both jury panel members and student audience. This competition provided an appropriate out of the classroom setting where students had actively engaged with one another in an academic interaction.

Lahore School Corporate Social Responsibility Center (CSR) conducted another free Medical Health Camp on 5 November, 2015 at Sharif Hospital. The Health Camp consisted of 12 volunteers. The CSR center gives students the opportunity to realize the importance of social welfare and how they can contribute their spare time in simple ways to give back to society and help others.
Medical consultancy team consisted of three doctors [Dr. Baqar Shareef (General Physician, Shareef Medical Hospital), Dr. Saima Malik (Consultant Hospitalist, Shaukat Khanum) and Dr. Shireen Gul (Consultant Gynecologist, Ganga Raam Hospital)].

Mr. Monis Rahman, CEO of Rozee.pk, Pakistan’s largest internet-based employment advertising company, paid a visit to the Lahore School on October 21, 2015 and delivered a session to the MBAs on “Leading an Entrepreneurial Organization to Maturity”.
Mr. Monis introduced his organization as very entrepreneurial, as it started in a small room with three people. Now, it had 15 global offices with 200 employees, which would grow to a healthy figure of 400 next year. Today some 65000 companies used Rozee’s platform and some 40,000 job applications were processed daily. But behind the decision to start this venture lay his previous learning from a large organization (INTEL) as Mr. Monis was able to learn about the processes, work-flow and best practices which stood him in good stead later. He also learnt very early the importance of cash flow.

Mr. Adeel Anwar, Director Organizational Excellence of Warid Telecom, paid a visit to the Lahore School on 28th of October 2015 and delivered a session to the MBAs on Human Resource Management and Performance Measurement within large organizations.
At the outset, he introduced his “People and Culture” division, responsible for Organizational Excellence (organizational development and learning), People Excellence (recruitment, payrolls, human resource services), Organizational Support Services (taking care of the premises, fleet management, social services such as running clubs), Security and Safety and even Budget and Financial (documentation and utilization of budgets). The department was also responsible for development of leadership (360 degree assessments, management reviews, and rotations), succession planning, psychometric evaluations, and developing and maintaining employee engagement indices.

Mr. Sohail Butt, Group Manager Demand and Supply Planning Nestle visited the Lahore school of Economics on 2 November 2015 to deliver a lecture on 'Forecasting'.
According to Mr. Sohail, the best way to predict the future is to create it (how Apple started off with a vision and went beyond people's needs). Forecasting helps to predict and identify disruptions in the market. Once the disruption is forecasted the organization can take measures accordingly to ensure a smooth transition through the disruptive phase.

Mr. Jawad Gillani, Regional Head of HR at HBL, was invited to the Lahore School of Economics on 29 October 2015 to deliver a lecture to the graduating BBA class. The topic under discussion was "Interview giving skills. "
Mr. Gilani explained the key factors that should be kept in mind while preparing a resume and moved on to interview tips. Mr. Gilani asked the students to 'do their homework ' before going for an interview: research about the organization, going over various industry jargon, trying to determine which role the individual would be interviewed for.

Mr. Khurram Javed Head of Trade Marketing and Distribution, PTC was invited to the Lahore School of Economics on 2 November 2015 to deliver a talk to the graduating MBA class.
Mr. Khurram Javed began macroeconomic view of Pakistan’s economy and enlightened the students on how macroeconomic overview helped in understanding the consumers better and hence the demand for the product.

Muhammad Alamgir Chaudhary, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), elaborated upon his perception of Entrepreneurship; a dynamic process of creating incremental wealth at the Lahore School seminar on 28 October 2015. The event was attended by Dr Azam Chaudhry (Dean of Economics Department), Prof F.A Fareedy (Patron) and Faizan Khalid (Executive Member). SMEDA offers a wide range of enterprise development support activities a few of which comprise of Entrepreneurship Development Training, Publications (secrets of E-Commerce, Trade Secrets, How to approach banks etc).
At the seminar Mr Alamgir told the graduating business students about “Entrepreneurship as Career option.” According to him SMEDA provides opportunities to the young entrepreneurs through their Common Facility Centers, PDSP Projects and latest technology. Mr. Alamgir explained briefly about the ups and downs every entrepreneur can face, and the opportunities the graduating students can avail through their possible areas of investment in Pakistan.

The marketing society at Lahore school (LSE-MS), organized a workshop for advertising "The Ultimate Power of Branding." on 20 October, 2015 in the SBS library. Good number of students and faculty attended the discussion based event.
Mr. Asad Rizvi kicked of the discussion on the importance and meaning of brand. Along with the interactive discussion, he also carried out varied activities like; brand personification and brand identification which were enjoyed by all students.
