Farewell 2022

The Lahore School of Economics hosted a grand farewell on Friday 13th of May 2022, in honor of this year’s graduating classes of MPhils, Executive MBAs and the full-time MBAs. Dr Rashid Amjad, a Professor of Economics and Director at the Lahore School Graduate Institute of Development Studies, and Dr Sohail Zafar, Dean of Business School, attended the farewell, as did many faculty members.


The function was held after a hiatus of a couple of years due to the impact of Covid, and thus there was a lot of excitement amongst the graduating classes. And the three sections of the MBA cohort who presented on stage did not disappoint the audience.


The highlight of the program was a sterling performance by Rab Nawaz, MBA candidate, who sang a difficult rendition. Many other candidates sang as well, many presented short but hilarious skits highlighting their experiences, and others performed well-prepared choreographies even though the time for preparation for short given the impending exams. Ghazals were sung, with some twists upon the words, with the audience giving raucous support to all the presenters.


At the end there was a dinner but many candidates were seen as photographing their friends, or being photographed by them. The farewell is a time-honored ritual which puts a closure on a very intense period of learning at the Lahore School for the MPhils, the Executive MBAs and the full-time MBAs.


It is hoped the 2022 batch will equal if not surpass the achievements of its predecessors.

Farewell 2017

Lahore School of Economics hosted an exciting and lively farewell to its graduating class of regular MBAs, professional MBAs and M Phils on 13 May 2017. The event was attended by hundreds, consisting of both graduating candidates, the faculty who taught them as well as the Dean of Economics School, Dr. Azam Chaudhry who, along with Dean of Business School Sohail Zafar offered the concluding remarks.


The regular and professional MBAs put up a most spirited performance. All sections had prepared their own skits, speeches, song and dance routines, videos and more. The skits relived their intense one year which they had spent working hard, preparing assignments and attended classes, but only this time, it seemed all was fun. Teachers were parodied, but even parodies reflected the affection that the students felt for them. The faculty was present and enjoyed the show as thoroughly as the students themselves.

It is a tradition now: The Lahore School of Economics hosts grand farewell dinner for graduating MBA, MBA for Professionals, MSc Economics and M Phil classes each year.


This year the farewell dinner was held in a local hotel on 5 June 2016. The farewell was attended by Dr. Azam Chaudhry, Dean of the School of Economics and other faculty member and over 200 MBA (including MBA for Professionals), Msc and M Phil participants. The performances by the different sections of the MBA cohort were the highlight of the evening.

Farewell 2015

The Lahore School of Economics hosted a graduating dinner for its MBA class of 2015 at a local hotel on 13 June 2015. The farewell was attended by Dr. Azam Chaudhry, Dean of the School of Economics, Dr. Sohail Zafar, Dean of the Business School, senior faculty and administration members and over 200 MBA and Professional MBA participants. The hallmark of the event was the wonderful and meticulous performances by the different sections of the MBA cohort.


In their performances, the Lahore School MBA participants showed creative videos, enacted dramatic tableaux, sang songs, put up stage performances, and even offered spectacular choreography, to enthusiastic and repeated applause from the audience. That the MBA cohort found time to prepare for these marvelous performances when they were immersed in their intensive and rigorous MBA program is testimony as much to their multifaceted personalities as it is to their bond with the Lahore School.

Farewell 2012
June 26, 2012

Lahore School threw a Farewell Party for graduating MBA class on June 19, 2012. The event was held under a stunning setting, perfect for the ‘night to remember’. The evening started with a walk down memory lane where slideshows were shown to the gathering. The slideshows provided a chance for all the students to revisit their past and remember all the fun times they had at the School.


An interesting and highly anticipated awards session then commenced, with the students voting for the Best Teachers and TAs for Finance and Marketing Sections, which were awarded by Dr. Azam Chaudhry, Dean of Economics. Andaleeb Abbas bagged the title for the Best Teacher: Marketing, and in her victory speech, she talked about the three Cs that guided her in her life: Conviction, Courage and Commitment. The Best Teacher: Finance was awarded to Dr. Shakil Faruqi, who gave a message to his students not to forget about “who they were and where they were from”. The Best TA award for marketing was given to Rabia Mansoor, and Hira Akram received the Best TA award for Finance.

Farewell MBA
July 13, 2007







Graduating month (August) is coming close and Lahore School students are making best use of life at the Campus and creating memories; farewell dinners, get-togethers, theme days, color days and group photos.

MBA 07 students made this beautiful ‘human chain’ at the lush green lawn of the Main Campus while they were assembled for class group photos (below). Lahore School of Economics gave a farewell dinner for the graduating batch of MBA, Executive MBA and MSc 2007 at Crystal Hall Pearl Continental, on June 21, 2007. The evening was marked by charismatic ambiance and the captivating performances.

Students reminisced and cherished their time spent at the Lahore School. They showed videos made by each section. Live music performances were also given by students in addition to giving ‘titles’ to every one.
