Industry Academia linkages - MOU

The Lahore School of Economics signed a Memorandum of Understanding with METRO-Habib Cash & Carry Pakistan (Pvt) Limited on Thursday, February 07,2019 at Barki Campus as a part of Industry Academia linkages. Dr Shahid Amjad Chaudhry, Rector Lahore School and Marek Mickiewicz, Managing Director METRO-Habib Cash & Carry Pakistan signed the MoU.
The main purpose of signing an MoU with METRO-Habib Cash & Carry Pakistan is to pursue the goal of strengthening Industry/Academia linkages.
Strong linkage between the Corporate Sector and Academia is a critical tool to tackle the key economic challenges of Pakistan. The research and innovation done at the Lahore School should attract huge demand from industry. Also the research, innovation, operations and management practices of METRO Pakistan will be a source of great learning to the faculty and students of the Lahore School of Economics. This should lead to increased, diversified economic activities and market development for all the parties involved.
MoU with METRO-Habib Cash & Carry covers the following areas:
- Participation of executives in various conferences, seminars and workshops organized by the Lahore School
- Participation of executives as guest speakers in “The Distinguished Professional Lecture Series Programme”.
- Participation of Human Resource Head, Training and Recruitment Head and other professional staff of METRO Pakistan for professional development of students.
- Recruitment and provision of internships for the students of the Lahore School of Economics.
- Research Activities including case studies or industry specific research, collaborative research and development projects.
- Exchange of Data and Information
- Executive Training opportunities for the Metro Pakistan’s employees by the internationally recognized faculty of the Lahore School.
- External scholarships for deserving/needy students; and student/faculty interaction between Metro Pakistan and the Lahore School including preapproved research visits and class visits.
