Fourteenth Conference on Recent Advances in Mathematical Methods, Models and Applications (RAMMMA19)
April 29, 2019
The Lahore School of Economics, Department of Mathematics and Statistical Sciences hosted, “Fourteenth Conference on Recent Advances in Mathematical Methods, Models and Applications (RAMMMA19)”, on 13th of April, 2019, at the Lahore School’s Burki Campus, Amjad Chaudhry Library.
The goal of this conference was to bring together mathematicians and users of mathematics to talk to each other, to transfer problems, ideas and methods from one community to the other, so as to enhance progress in understanding. The "RAMMMA" tradition has these key features: the number of participants is usually bounded above by 80 with a mix of pure and applied interests; there are no parallel sessions so that all participants focus on each presentation and fully engage in each topic; and there is ample time for discussion of each presentation. The areas of interest of this conference were (but not limited to): Numerical Analysis; Generalization of Intuitionistic fuzzy set with Application in fuzzy sets; Algebraic Linearization; Financial mathematics; Mathematical Biology.
The main organizers of the conference were Dr. Ismat Beg, Dr Asghar Qadir and Saleem Asghar. The local organizers of the conference were Professor Dr. Rana Abdul Wajid, Dr. Asma Khalid and Aroosa Tariq from the Lahore School Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
The conference was opened by the Rector, Lahore School of Economics, Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry. Dr. Asma Khalid being the first speaker gave a very interesting talk on, “Soft pedal and influence based decision modelling”. Second speaker of the day was Muhammad Rafiq, working in the Department of Mathematics University of Central Punjab, Lahore. He talked about “Numerical Analysis of a Non-Linear Stochastic Epidemic Model”. Shakoor Muhammad from Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan came next and spoke on “An Equilibrium Condition Based on Pareto-criticality Conditions”. Amer Iqbal from Abdus Salam School of Mathematical Sciences, Lahore gave a very interesting talk on “Vafa - Witten Invariants”. Nabeel Butt from Lahore School of Economics gave a talk on very interesting topic “Dynamic portfolio theory with capital gains taxes and implications for derivative pricing” Some other speakers for the day were Khalid Mehmood Amir, Muhammad Irfan Ali, Irfan Mustafa and Shahzaib Ashraf. Day one ended around five with participants looking forward to the next day of the very informative conference.
The second day resumed with an interesting talk on “Numerical Analysis of a Delayed Epidemic Model with Quarantine and Latent “by Muhammad Asghar Ali, from University of Lahore, Lahore.
The next talk was given by Aslam Javed on from University College Lahore. Muhammad Umair Shahzad, University of Central Punjab, Lahore, gave an extensive insight on “Thermodynamics of Black holes With Higher Order Corrected Entropy”. After that an interesting talk was given by Dr. Mujahid Abbas from Government College University, Lahore on Transition matrix of Markov Chain: An example of a Picard operator. Nazeran Idrees, from Government College University, Faisalabad gave a talk on “Combinatorial Properties of Independence Complex of Graphs.”
Lastly, Zain Ul Abadin Zafar, from University of Central Punjab, Lahore gave a talk on “Stochastic Hepatitis B Model with Noncytolytic Loss of Infected Cells.” Conference Closing Remarks were given by Dr. Ismat Beg.
